Motaclan - A new client win!

Motaclan is the new name in the manufacturer and distribution of classic car parts for trade and retail. The brand consists of many iconic British names such as Leacy Classics, Xpart, Wood and Pickett, and Racing Green. Despite the new nameplate, the business has over 40 years' experience in the automotive sector.

The We Are Nameless team, under the direction of Client Director Helen Allman, has worked with the Birmingham based business on a strategy to bring all these illustrious names under one marque. Over the past few months, the automotive marketing team has devised a brand strategy, the visual identity, the launch plan, creative, and event activation. All this resulting in the brand launch at the NEC Motorshow in November.

A key part of the project has been the creation of the brand strategy and visual identity. Given the nature of the classic car marketplace, it was important to maintain strong links to the past yet also a level of modernity to be relevant to more consumers. The agency creative team worked on logo development, colourways, fonts, and various design elements to provide a simple yet clean look. Inspired by classic cars from the past, the visual identity includes Petrol Blue blended with Old English White.

Motaclan specialise in parts for classic British automotive marques such as MG, Rover, Land Rover, Mini, and TVR to name a few. The business holds over 500,000 parts which are available to order online. A launch campaign aimed at the buoyant classic car marketplace has resulted in the creation of print, digital and video assets. An important aspect of the agency campaign planning has been understanding the mindset of consumers. Our media plan spans print, digital, events, and also the engagement of many specialist owner groups.

The NEC Motorshow was an opportunity to speak to clients old and new. The agency managed the stand design and event management coupled with important aspects such as data capture, content creation, and social media management.

We look forward to a long and successful relationship with Motaclan.
